1. Overview
At 1Stop African Caribbean Market Inc., we strive to ensure the freshness and quality of all products, including frozen and dry goods. In accordance with Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002, and applicable food safety regulations, we provide the following return and refund policy for your convenience and protection.
2. General Return Conditions
Returns must be initiated within 7 days of the original purchase date.
A valid proof of purchase (e.g. store receipt or online order confirmation) is required.
Items must be returned in their original, unopened packaging, and in saleable condition, unless defective or spoiled.
For in-store returns, the customer must bring the item to our physical location.
Refunds or exchanges are subject to management approval.
3. Frozen Food Products
Due to Ontario public health and food safety laws, returns or exchanges on frozen food products are not permitted except in the following situations:
Eligible for Return or Exchange (within 24 hours of purchase):
Product was spoiled, damaged, or expired at the time of sale.
You received the wrong product due to a store or delivery error.
Product packaging was compromised before it left our control.
Conditions:
Product must remain frozen and be returned in original packaging.
Customer must contact us within 24 hours of purchase or delivery to report the issue.
Visual proof (e.g. photos of the item and packaging) may be required.
Not Eligible for Return:
Change of mind or customer error
Improper storage after purchase
Opened or partially used products
4. Dry Goods (Non-Perishable Foods)
Returns of dry grocery items such as rice, flour, canned goods, snacks, spices, and beverages are accepted under the following conditions:
Eligible for Return (within 7 days):
Product is unopened, unused, and in original packaging.
Product was sold damaged, defective, or expired.
Incorrect item was received or purchased due to staff error.
Not Eligible for Return:
Opened or partially used products (unless defective)
Expired products due to customer delay
Items marked “Final Sale” or promotional clearance
5. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is:
Damaged or spoiled at time of purchase
Incorrect (wrong item delivered)
Defective or expired
Please notify us within 24–48 hours of receiving the item. You may:
Visit the store in person
Contact us via phone or email (see Section 8 below)
We may offer a:
Full refund
Replacement
Store credit, depending on the situation
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be issued via the original payment method (debit, credit, or cash) or as store credit, at the customer’s request.
Please allow 5–10 business days for card payments to be refunded by your bank or credit card issuer.
7. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned:
Fresh produce
Fresh or frozen meat
Custom orders or special items
Items marked “Final Sale”
Gift cards
